10 Contenders To Replace Daniel Bryan As WWE SmackDown General Manager

1. Sami Zayn And Kevin Owens

With nothing currently planned for the duo at Survivor Series, it is difficult to imagine the main event taking place without interference from Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn. The Canadian tandem have been at odds with Shane McMahon ever since coming together, and the feeling is that there is plenty of drama to come in this one.

It would take some serious storytelling, but one compelling way to remove Daniel Bryan as General Manager would be for Owens and Zayn to stage a full on coup of SmackDown Live. How would they do that? It isn’t entirely clear, but Shane’s tendency to throw himself into matches could well work against him.

WWE must find a way for Owens and Zayn to replace Shane and Bryan, and take control of SmackDown Live. This then sets in motion a story that could end with Bryan being written off WWE TV for good, or even sewing the seeds of the eventual break-up of Kevin and Sami. The company has done the right thing in putting the two together on-screen - it really must go all the way with it.

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
