10 Controversial Times Wrestlers Went Off-Script
7. Scott Steiner Thinks WCW Sucks
In terms of the generally understood "do's" and "do not's" when it comes to the world of professional wrestling, perhaps the most obvious out there is to not completely bury the company you're currently employed with on a national stage.
Scott Steiner hasn't ever been one to play by anyone's rules, though, evidenced in a particular infamous promo cut whilst plying his trade under the WCW banner back in February 2000 on Nitro. Sounding off on Ric Flair during the explosive spell on the mic, Big Poppa pump would brand The Nature boy a "jealous old bastard", saying his antics were causing many fans to switch over to Raw instead. Going one further, Steiner would also claim that WCW outright "sucked" at the time, a moment that resulted in him being suspended for two weeks (with pay, no less).
If putting over Stone Cold Steve Austin, the WWF, and burying Flair wasn't enough, completely crapping on the place that was paying his bills is just another example of why this mountain of muscle wasn't always the easiest star to have on your team over the course of his glory years.
