7. The Miz Was A Reality TV Star

The Miz gets more hate right now than perhaps any WWE Superstar with the exception of John Cena. Despite the work he does in the ring and despite how far he's come since he debuted, the fact is that many fans truly despise The Miz. This hate has nothing to do with which side he's on; when Miz hits the ramp, many fans are ready to hit him. However, the best part of this is the fact that Miz got a jump on this character years ago, long before he actually stepped into a WWE ring. As a reality TV star, Miz had the opportunity from the time he first appeared on television, to not only have fun but to entertain. Somewhere along the way, Miz began crafting his heel persona. It was a gimmick born out of genuine hate, genuine loathing from an audience that just do not like him at all. Instead of worrying or complaining about it, Miz used that emotion and built the character that we see before us today. The Real World, Road Rules and Fear Factor may not have been WWE but Tough Enough was. There is every reason to believe that had it not been for his break into reality TV, that Miz would never have made it anywhere close to WWE. Just that fact alone is enough to be considered cool.
