10 Coolest Day Jobs Of WWE Stars Before They Made It

8. Michael Cole Was A Reporter/Journalist

WWE fans are likely very accustomed to their announcers and color commentators being pro wrestling lifers. From Gorilla Monsoon to Jim Ross, it's the guys that have dedicated themselves to the business that typically have always been at the forefront of the company. However there are exceptions to that rule and one of them is Michael Cole, who perhaps did not always have dreams of working in WWE. In fact, Cole's first job was that of a reporter and journalist. Cole was heavily involved in politics, covering the presidential campaigns of Bob Dole, Steve Forbes and Michael Dukakis. He also covered major events like David Koresh's cult and their Waco standoff in 1993. Cole was for all intents and purposes, a hardworking journalist committed to his craft, a man that had found his calling. The world of pro wrestling likely could have been the furthest thing from his mind. WWE would be Cole's destination however and when he arrived in 1997 he brought his professionalism and credibility with him. Michael Cole left a journalism career behind for WWE and now it's nearly impossible to imagine the company without his presence.
