10 Coolest Wrestlers In WCW History

3. Sting

There was nothing cool about Sting circa 1991. If anything, he was a gullible babyface who had been turned on repeatedly, a generic main event babyface who inspired kids but little else. That all changed with the arrival of the New World Order and speculation that WCW's franchise star had joined the renegade group.

The lack of trust on the part of the WCW faithful and his closest friends drove Sting away and into the rafters. It was there that he became cooler than ever, a silent vigilante watching over his company as the nWo terrorized it for an entire year. Eventually he emerged, his motivations unclear until he started laying waste to guys like Scott Hall, Kevin Nash, The Giant and Randy Savage, leaving little doubt about his loyalty to WCW.

Dressed like a stuntman for The Crow, he played the role to perfect. He looked cool, had brooding entrance music and carried a black baseball bat he used to punish his rivals. He never talked, leaving his actions to speak for him and eventually, his manipulation and mind games with the New World Order led to one of the most anticipated matches in WCW history: a Starrcade 1997 showdown with Hulk Hogan.

While the nWo was busy trying to be cool, Sting did as little as possible and actually succeeded.
