10 Craziest Wrestling Moments That Ever Happened Live

1. Owen Hart

Time for the most insane moment in pro wrestling: the event that saw one of the WWF€™s most charismatic and popular stars actually die in the ring, just off camera At WWF€™s Over The Edge pay-per-view on April 5th 1999, Owen Hart, youngest and best of the legendary Hart boys, was due to play his masked Blue Blazer persona, fronting up to The Godfather over the Intercontinental championship. It wasn€™t enough for WWF to have the Blazer sprint to the ring, though. No, they were going to have this rubbish superhero character rappel down from the arena€™s ceiling, only to €˜become stuck€™ just above the ring canvas and then to cut himself free with the harness€™ quick release trigger to fall onto his nose in a classic bit of slapstick. Tragically, that wasn€™t how things would play out. A couple of foot ino the fall, the trigger released on its own. Owen would freefall seventy-eight feet to land with his sternum onto a turnbuckle, and then a boneless collapse into the ring itself. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eJuHvBTkmEg The incident was never broadcast: the delay on all live performances allowed them to cut around the ring and prevent the audience at home from seeing what had actually occurred. Jim Ross and Jerry Lawler, horrified and sombre, emphasised to the audience at home that this wasn€™t a storyline or any kind of angle: Owen Hart, one of the most beloved professional wrestlers today, was dead. What€™s the craziest moment you can remember from live pro wrestling programming? Spill it in the comments!
