In 1997, Cactus Jack was feuding in with both Road Dogg and Billy Gunn - The New Age Outlaws. As tough as Mick Foley is, he was still finding himself outnumbered. In a handicap match on Raw, a figure began to emerge from a wooden crate as a chainsaw began to buzz. The figure was Terry Funk in a gimmick that saw him look similar to the Texas Chainsaw Massacre character Leatherface, soon christened by Jim Ross as 'Chainsaw Charlie'. The next Raw, the two had a match which was cut short, as they were both assaulted by the New Age Outlaws. This made the two icons of extreme team together in a dumpster match against the outlaws at Wrestlemania XIV. The pairing of Terry Funk and Mick Foley isn't exactly 'crazy' by definition in terms of logic, as the two are both famous as tough, older hardcore wrestlers and share a lot of common ground. But in terms of their gimmicks and personalities, the two as a duo were completely nuts and willing to do anything to liven up a match. The team dissolved soon after an incredibly brief run with the Tag-Team Titles, as the New Age Outlaws won them back the very next night on Raw.
