Back in 1997, no one despised the Hart Foundation more than Stone Cold Steve Austin and Shawn Michaels. The two were forced to team against their common enemies - Owen Hart and the British Bulldog with the unlikely alliance picking up the WWF Tag-Team Championships. However, the team was incredibly short-lived due to an injury Michaels sustained, thus the titles were vacated. Mankind tried to offer himself as a partner to Austin, but Stone Cold refused claiming that 'he wanted nothing to do with a freak'. When the rematch for the titles finally happened, a partnerless Austin was joined mid-match by Dude Love. The team couldn't have been more of a personality contrast, but they instantly became fan favourites as a team. Unfortunately, the union was again not played out due to the broken neck Austin sustained at Summerslam by the hands of Owen Hart. What possible combination is better for a tag-team than a beer drinking bad-ass and a free-loving hippy? Too bad it never had a conclusion.
