10 Crazy Secrets From The WWE Writers Room

1. "My Experience Is In Everything BUT WWE."

THE ULTIMATE THUMBNAIL
E!

When you've got a writing team that consists of 30-40 staff, having one or two writers with no experience of working in a professional wrestling setting can actually be beneficial. That offers up the chance for fresh outside eyes to pull on their own experiences elsewhere in a way that could bring something different to the table.

Jarringly, though, it appears that the vast majority of WWE writers do not have a jot of experience in the wrestling business. And not just that, but WWE is loud and proudly displaying this information as part of their current recruitment video.

In said video, as we see various writers asked about their own backgrounds, the responses on offer come thick and fast.

"I live in LA, working on reality shows, writing my own screenplays," offers up one fella.

"I studied film and TV at Notre Dame," one particularly smug prick says.

"I worked at a talent agency for four years," is one response.

"Scripted TV," adds another.

"Sports and music," is one further answer.

"I come from soap operas," chimes in someone else.

The best answer, though? That's the guy who boldly states, "My experience is in everything BUT WWE."

Yes, WWE's own corporate website is running a recruitment campaign where it champions how the majority of its writing staff have absolutely zero experience in pro wrestling.

We've all known that this has been the case for years, but to go so hard in putting this information out on Front Street? Absolutely insane. What other industry or job sector operates like this? None.

Anyway, time to be welcomed into my new career as a brain surgeon, where I'll pull on my experiences writing about wrestling, movies, and comic books.
