8. "There Is No Sick"

Vince McMahon famously has extremely few days off and never, ever allows himself to be sick. After all, having an illness is a sign of weakness, of course.

Unfortunately, McMahon's refusal to be ill is something that is also enforced on his writing staff.

As former head writer Vince Russo wrote back in 2014, Vince straight-out told him that "there is no sick". Russo referenced a time when he should have been in hospital, yet was in actuality at a WWE PPV and the following night's TV taping.

From Russo:

"I don't remember the year or the event, all I remember is Ken Shamrock and The Rock had a match. I was so sick backstage that I was actually soaking wet with sweat as I watched the show earing a heavy overcoat while SHAKING. I just wanted to go home - that's it. But when you work for Vince - you go to work, there is no other option. That infamous line came from Vince the night prior at our production meeting when I was on the verge of DEATH while sitting next to him. After about an hour into the meeting, Vince looked at me somewhat annoyed and said, 'What's wrong with you?' Vince - I'm sick, I'm said. Vince looked me dead in the eye and delivered the line, 'THE IS NO SICK.' I never forget that to this day. And trust me, he wasn't kidding."

It's not just Vince Russo who has made this claim, for countless former WWE writers have documented how Vince McMahon simply does not believe in he or any of his staff getting sick.
