10 Crazy Wrestling Angles That Shouldn't Have Worked (But Did)

3. Rusev Day

Rusev, was one of the most underutilized and under-appreciated talentson the WWE roster for the better part of a decade. His only championship run was with the United States Title: a reign that would end, along with his then-undefeated streak at WrestleMania 31 but none other than John Cena.

Towards the end of this tenure in WWE, Rusev was involved in the domestic triangle angle with Bobby Lashley. This was after the two people closest two him Rusev, had left him. Lana for Bobby Lashley, and Aiden, after a lackluster heel-turn that went nowhere, consigning him to a commentary role on 205 Live.

Before things started going sour between our dynamic duo, Rusev had declared that he should get a holiday named after him as well! As a matter of fact, every day was Rusev Day!

Coming out to Aiden English's own personal introduction, a legitimate professional opera singer, Rusev Day connected to an extreme level. Their crowd reactions brought the house down every single night and merch was flying off the shelves, though WWE never truly got behind the act.

What’s up fellow Pro-Wrestling FANADDICTS, (and yes, I’m a aware that is not the correct way to spell “fanatics,” but I thought since this was my introduction I’d ease everyone into my sarcastic sense of humor before just jumping off the proverbial high-dive.) ANYWHO, I have been OBSESSED, and not just because I legitimately was diagnosed at 8 years old with Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder, with Pro-Wrestling. It is BAR-NONE, my biggest passion in life. If I didn’t have to pay bills, I’d do it for free! (Work in the industry in any capacity).
