10 Crazy Wrestling Partnerships That Shouldn't Have Worked (But Did)

2. The Miz & Damien Sandow

The wrestler formerly known as Damien Sandow hasn't carved out the niche many expected he would since leaving WWE, though there was genuinely a time when he looked like one of the most talented, creative guys Vince McMahon had ever let slip through his fingers. Turns out he probably wasn't, despite his ability to get over as a wacky impression artist against the odds in WWE.

The abandonment of Sandow's 'Intellectual Saviour of the Masses' gimmick preceded him adopting an undercard comedy bit in which he impersonated Magneto, Bruce Springsteen, LeBron James, and more. He was eventually attached to The Miz full-time. 'The A-Lister' took Sandow on as his "stunt double" to massage his ego and thus, Mizdow was born, spurring the former Mr. Money in the Bank to become a full-on copycat - and a ludicrously entertaining one at that.

Created from a lame comedy act felt like it was designed to bury Sandow, Mizdow accidentally became one of the most over things in the entire company. That WWE failed to capitalise on this in a star-making feud with an increasingly irate Miz is a great shame.
