This entry represents a different kind of crazy.

There’s no endangering of human life going on here, but the death of Perry Saturn’s sidekick, Moppy, at the hands of that despicable murderer Terri Runnels. This was one of the occasions when the WWF turned so downright loopy that it had fans wondering if Vince Russo had secretly returned to the writing team. It also represented the death of Perry Saturn’s wrestling career.

Moppy was part of Saturn’s punishment for getting rough with Mike Bell, a jobber, a few months prior. The poor soul botched an arm drag, dropped Saturn right on his head, and provoked a legitimate shoot beatdown from the former Radical. Saturn was immediately thrown in the doghouse, and the WWF elected to punish him on-air by saddling him with a ridiculous “brain damage” gimmick that reduced him to a babbling fool and saw him fall in love with an actual mop.

The move killed Saturn’s credibility as a performer, but Moppy was an odd hit with the crowd. Nonetheless, Moppy wasn’t long for this world, and she was captured by Raven and Terri, Saturn’s ex-girlfriend, in September 2001. The dastardly duo cruelly kidnapped Moppy while Saturn was wrestling, tied her up, and fed her to a wood chipper in one of the most bizarre segments Raw has ever produced.
