10 Crazy WWE Royal Rumble 2020 Theories You Need To Hear

1. Kofi Kingston To Get His Revenge

Former WWE Champion Kofi Kingston has undoubtedly become an afterthought since losing the title to Brock Lesnar on SmackDown's FOX debut.

While Kingston has had success in the tag ranks with Big E, no amount of tag team success is comparable to being WWE Champion and the face of the SmackDown brand. Since losing to Lesnar in a matter of seconds, not only did Kofi's run as WWE Champ come to an end, but so too did his stint as a WWE main eventer.

The fact that the Dreadlocked Dynamo hasn't even mentioned a title rematch, let alone received such a rematch, is outright disrespectful of WWE and makes the Kofi Kingston character look like a complete idiot. Losing the WWE Championship in such a fashion, Kofi should have been constantly clamouring for a shot at reclaiming the gold or looking at ways to immediately put himself back in the title picture.

Instead, he dropped from the main event scene without a trace.

Kingston doesn't even particularly have to have any real interaction with Lesnar in the Royal Rumble match itself, but Kofi getting the win, putting a WrestleMania target on Brock's back, and then spending the next two months talking about the fact he's been overlooked and mistreated since losing the WWE Championship is the sort of TV that writes itself.

Whether Kofi would beat Lesnar at 'Mania isn't really all that important, as this is one of those arcs where it's more about the journey and character growth - such as dropping those pancakes in favour of a renewed focus - rather than the WrestleMania match result.
