9. WCW Promote A Monster Truck Match

Wrestling fans (shock horror) like to see wrestling matches when they order a wrestling show on pay-per-view.

As if it wasn't used enough in that sentence, the key word there is wrestling. Something nobody particularly cares for is when promotions try and waste time with other 'attractions', eating up valuable time on an event people have put down money to see.

At Halloween Havoc 1995, Hulk Hogan and The Giant were scheduled to meet in the show's main event for the WCW World Title. Beforehand, they sat behind the wheel in their respective monster trucks and did battle to see which machine was more powerful.

That's not a joke, it actually happened. Hogan won, meaning an irate Giant decided it was time to brawl. Moments later, Hulk accidentally shoved his rival from the top of the arena, supposedly sending him to his doom below.

Acting as though nothing happened, The Giant emerged for his World Title bout against Hogan later that evening. At least WCW booked the pair to have an actual match, but the monster truck fluff felt unnecessary on pay-per-view.
