10 Current Wrestlers Who Would Have Had More Success In The Attitude Era

Dean Ambrose is in a pretty tough spot. Having to portray a 'lunatic' in an era when you can't do anything all that crazy is a tall task. Simply having announcers refer to him as 'The Lunatic Fringe' isn't enough and it's a part of the reason this character has lost some momentum.

During the Attitude Era, the former Shield member would have had more success playing a character similar to the one Brain Pillman portrayed. It wouldn't be hard to imagine a disheveled Ambrose showing up at Steve Austin's doorstep with a gun, as Pillman did. Those are the sort of angles needed for Ambrose to establish himself as a true lunatic and they aren't happening in today's WWE. These limitations make Dean Ambrose seem like a man who is in the right place at the wrong time.
