Having spent the bulk of 2020 nicely nestled in their heel personas, Johnny Gargano and Candice LeRae's affection for one another, as well their narcissistic quest for NXT domination has placed them in a whole new league. Whether they are marching to work solo, or wrestling as a pair, the chemistry these two bring to the house-party dinner-table sets a new standard for relationship double-acts.
The novelty of their spoilt nature never falters. They are always flaunting it. When Candice LeRae loses a match, Gargano openly throws a tantrum on her behalf, and so forth. Sometimes they are on top of the world, and other times, everything goes wrong, but there is always that mutual devotion to each others' misguided intentions.
As heels, the idea is to despise them, but you can only do that to a point. They are villains no doubt, but their flawed human traits offer the conclusion that they are deluded pillocks, and therefore impossible not to love.
