Delights in all arenas other than the ones they're required to make a primary living within, Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson are hilarious and humble podcast guests, Southpaw Regional Wrestling stars and backstage vignette merch-shifters. Translating those talents has proven problematic.

Unashamed fanboys of a forgotten time, their recent journey to WWE via New Japan Pro Wrestling betrays their adoration and experience within United States independents still closely linked to the Southern territories of the 1980s,

An innocent irony-free time that once had young ringsider Steve Austin wailing with worry over Dusty Rhodes' latest bloodletting would be the ideal location for the 'Bálor Club' hangers-on. Much as he did in New Japan, Gallows could bask in the hatred of life as a mean heater whilst Anderson steered the match in the vein of his namesake inexorably linked to the timeframe for real.

If even necessary, the duo's likability could have even facilitated a face turn amongst NWA loyalists. Those fans liked tough guys once they used their power for good rather than evil - Anderson and Gallows would be pitch-perfect bad*ss good guys.
