There's no way WWE can get away with shining the green light on a Daniel Bryan in-ring return without putting him up against his arch nemesis.

The Miz is everything Bryan isn't, and vice versa. Daniel is a hard-working professional wrestler who toiled for years to make it to the big time. Meanwhile, Miz only learned how to become a solid worker after he had already been hired by WWE solely on the strengths of his promo work. This is yin and yang stuff.

Back when Miz was part of the SmackDown roster in 2016, he regularly butted heads with Bryan in the GM role. Despite the fact fans knew they weren't going to see any physical pay off, it was still entertaining to see both spar verbally, and there's a ton of content WWE could dig up to sell the next chapter in the feud.

If Miz loses the Intercontinental Title at WrestleMania, then he should immediately be drafted to Tuesday nights and resume his issues with Bryan. These days, unlike in 2016, Daniel can slap the taste out of the heel's mouth and finally put him in his place.
