10 DDT & TJPW Wrestlers Who MUST Appear In AEW
3. Maki Itoh
The Fired Idol, Maki Itoh has been a sensation in DDT and Tokyo Joshi Pro-Wrestling for several years while utilising the medium of social media to get her character over. After a great performance in the AEW Women’s Championship tournament, where she stole the hearts of many an AEW fan, Itoh made her way to the US. Her last appearance with the company was a popular move, so a return would be highly anticipated.
Before entering the world of wrestling Itoh was a part of several idol groups, which was her gateway into DDT Pro-Wrestling. She has performed in DDT on and off since 2013 before joining TJPW in 2016. Itoh is a six-time Ironman Heavymetalweight Champion as well as a two-time International Princess Champion, which she currently holds. She is also the winner of the 2021 Tokyo princess Cup.
Maki Itoh and Chris Brookes haven’t tagged together since 2019 but the two could reunite in AEW, maybe facing off against the teams of Britt Baker and Adam Cole or Sammy Guevara and Tay Conti. Another feud that could be interesting would be with the current AEW Women’s Champion, Thunder Rosa, who took the International Princess Championship from Itoh in January of 2019.
