9. The Iconic Duo
They’ve only been teaming since
October of last year, but in that short time, Billie Key and Peyton Royce have
made quite an impression in NXT. The arrogant Aussies have become BFFs, forming
an alliance to improve their chances for transitioning to the main roster.
Labelling themselves the Iconic Duo, they’re quickly living up to their hype,
being named the Breakout Star of 2016.
Although they’ve been unsuccessful in wrestling the Women’s Championship from Asuka, they’ve become a thorn in her backside. At NXT TakeOver: San Antonio in January of this year, they gave the undefeated champion a cause for concern, double-teaming her in a fatal four way match.
If WWE does decide to resurrect tag team titles, Key and
Royce are guaranteed to wear the gold.
