Longest individual reign as a World Champion: 793 days as NWA World Champion World Titles held: 16 Official World Championships; Eight-time NWA Champion (3,103 total days), six-time WCW Champion (501 days), two-time WWF/E Champion (118 days). With near-on 4000 days as a wrestling World Champion, with over sixteen officially recognised world titles, from such a wide stretch of wrestling history, there's no doubt that Ric Flair is the most decorated World Champion of all-time. It must also be said the titles in question are no doubt the most prestigious titles to ever exist in American professional wrestling. Ric's title history also goes to show that he was relevant for over 30 years as a wrestler, consistently recognised as one of the very best throughout that entire span in multiple organisations. As for the titles themselves, before WCW's collapse the number of recognised title reigns was at 18, but since absorbing the company the WWE have corrected the title history. According to Ric himself, he's held 21 World Titles, but many of these are unrecognised due to vacating, controversies, and the short-lived WCW International World Heavyweight Championship. That goes to show the extent of his dominance, that there are so many unrecognized reigns with titles he's held, yet he's still held the most world titles in industry history. It's also worth noting the difficulty of obtaining the title and frequency of title changes back in the era that Ric won most of his in, compared to more modern champions and the hot-potato booking of contemporary wrestling. While John Cena's total reigns are creeping up on the Ric Flair's, Cena still has a long way to go if he's to truly match the Nature Boy Ric Flair.
