10 Most Decorated Wrestling World Champions

2. John Cena

Longest individual reign as a World Champion: 380 days as WWE Champion World Titles held: 12-time WWE Champion (combined 1240 days), 3-time World Heavyweight Champion (combined 154 days) John Cena is no doubt the most ubiquitous World Champion of modern and contemporary wrestling - having held the WWE Championship a record breaking 12 times, with fifteen individual title reigns being second to only one man. It's hard to rate Cena as a quality World Champion because so many of his title reigns have been incredibly brief, he seems to be used at times as a transition champion to bounce around the belt on. Do we consider this greatness? Or lazy booking and a dull talent pool? It's hard to say. The difficulty also comes with the the general opinion that fans don't want to see John Cena as a World Champion. He's no longer overcoming the odds, in the words of CM Punk "You're a dynasty. You are what you hate. You have become the New York Yankees!" Regardless, it's hard to deduct from the sheer number of fifteen world titles, even if they're typically easier to gain or repeatedly win in this current era of wrestling. While he may not be one of the best, the most popular or the most skilled World Champions in history, he's certainly one of the most decorated.
