We start with a fairly recent effort, back at last year's Royal Rumble match. Every man and his dog knew John Cena and The Rock were going to have a rematch at WrestleMania 29, as it was set in stone from almost the night after their first contest at WrestleMania 28. This was a time when there were two major championships in the WWE, and even with The Rock winning the WWE Championship - which he would do later that night - there was still a prospect of the Rumble winner going after the World Heavyweight Championship and creating some genuine intrigue. The company had spent months building Ryback up, eventually turning him into a main event candidate. However, all that hype and momentum was destroyed in one night by the company, as they pinned the Rumble victory on Cena for no reason whatsoever. This would have been a superb chance for Cena to put over an up and coming guy to give him a mega push.
