10 Degrees You Didn't Know WWE Stars Had

Can you imagine Kane reading Shakespeare?

Traditionally, the mainstream media have always tried to paint professional wrestling as a hobby for simpletons. In the 1986 movie, 'Hannah And Her Sisters', Max Von Sydow plays a character who is shown in one scene criticising the medium. Alongside preachers and talk shows, Sydow's 'Frederick' states, 'Can you imagine the level of a mind that watches wrestling?'. That statement perhaps sums up Vince McMahon's frustration. For decades, McMahon has worked tirelessly to have his juggernaut, World Wrestling Entertainment be taken seriously by the world at large. Sadly, those outside of the bubble simply don't get it. That's something almost every wrestling fan can relate to, others wondering why they bother with it at all. Of course, the idea that only those with a low IQ watch professional wrestling is ludicrous. That's what this article aims to dispel, the notion that all people involved in the industry are idiots. In fact, that couldn't be further from the truth, there are loads of truly smart folks in the grappling business. For example, did you know that a fair number of wrestlers have college or university degrees to their name? The likes of John Cena, The Rock and even Vince McMahon himself have all studied with great success, and this list explores their lives away from the bright lights of WWE. Sadly, it's unlikely the view of the world outside wrestling will ever see it as anything other than base, but that doesn't tell the full story.
