10 Degrees You Didn't Know WWE Stars Had

7. Wade Barrett (Marine Biology)

The 'King' Barrett gimmick may have been stupid, but the same cannot be said of the man behind the recently-abolished character. Wade Barrett, real name Stuart Bennett, was fascinated by pro wrestling from a young age. Growing up in Preston, and later Wales, he idolised the stars he viewed on WWF television. In later years, Barrett would tell that he was transfixed by the events of SummerSlam 1992, which took place in London, England. It's difficult for a young person to outright say that they simply want to become a pro wrestler however, so the man continued in school and started studying at the University Of Liverpool. It was there that he graduated with a degree in Marine Biology. Making use of his qualification, Barrett worked in a laboratory, but quickly realised that it wasn't how he wanted to spend his life. As he was already training to become a professional wrestler, the future leader of Nexus traded in his lab coat for wrestling tights full time, going all in and attempting to make a splash in the grappling world. His current future may be shrouded in mystery, but it was a smart decision.
