10 Despicably Villainous UFC Moments

7. Tank Abbott Mocks Unconscious John Matua

Tank Abbott didn't need to do much to establish himself as a villain inside of the world of MMA.

I mean just look at him. His freakish size and intimidating facial hair screamed 'top henchman'.

So, by simply knocking people out and proving to be a monstrous obstacle, Abbott could have quite easily become the new big bad who the rest of the Heavyweight division wanted to topple.

Yet, that was too easy for Abbott and shortly after disposing of John Matua in his MMA/UFC debut, he chose to add insult to injury.

Nevermind the fact that Abbott was allowed to land one heavy shot too many on a clearly unconscious Matua, the real kicker came when Abbott gesticulated 'seizing up' in direct response to the image of Matua going stiff after the KO.

In isolation, the taunt doesn't seem so bad. But, when you take into account the fact that Matua hadn't moved since falling and very much could have been seriously hurt, Abbott's actions become a lot more sinister so soon after the final blow was struck.

These theatrics obviously seemed to be in Abbott's nature as he would eventually try his hand at pro wrestling in 1999.
