It was an injury that had been affecting her for quite some time and one that would ultimately play a major role in her retirement in a year earlier. The injury, officially a "degenerative disk" injury, would lead the Torontoan to turn to yoga as a means of rehabilitation. Rather than undergoing surgery that would have corrected the injury quicker but would have put her on the sidelines longer, not to mention create potential for complications with her long-term health. She was written off of WWE programming at Backlash in May, where she fell victim to a brutal attack from the 500-pound Viscera, and would not return until September. Trish returned from the injury better than ever, competing against Mickie James in a feud that culminated with an outstanding match at WrestleMania 22. Her retirement match at Unforgiven 2006 against Lita, in which she won the Women's Championship, capped off a career that ultimately landed her in the WWE Hall of Fame in 2013. Yoga was such a powerful rehabilitation tool that she opened her own studio in Toronto called the Stratusphere. Today, she is has her own brand of yoga DVDs and essentials, available on her official website.
