10 Devastating Injuries That Made Wrestlers WORSE

9. Hulk Hogan

The irony of certain wrestling fans who get pissy about exhilaration, with their safety police helmets on, is that the biggest worker to ever work a work - Hulk Hogan - f*cked his quality of life by dropping the leg one too many times.

Hogan often did next to nothing in there because he didn't have to. He was the preeminent master of controlling a crowd. But that leg drop finish ruined his hips and his legs. There is no such thing as the healthy professional wrestler - even chinlock enthusiast Randy Orton will endure shoulder issues for eternity - so you might as well pop at a topé suicida.

Hogan didn't need to do anything before the years eroded his body, but he at least got himself about a bit, when the occasion demanded - when he criss-crossed the ring to demonstrate parity with the Ultimate Warrior, when he had to put the working boots on in Japan. But later years Hogan wasn't anywhere near as effective, looking at those post-2002 numbers.

He look so arthritic against younger, more mobile competition that, especially when sharing the same ring as Shawn Michaels, the old cartoonish magic descended into hoary parody.
