10 Directions For New WWE Universal Champion Brock Lesnar
1. WrestleMania 34: The End?
As flawed as the last Lesnar vs. Reigns feud was, the match itself was excellent. Seth Rollins wound-up cashing-in his Money In The Bank briefcase at WrestleMania 31, but Roman and Brock were en route to having an all-timer until that point. There’s absolutely no reason to believe they can’t do the same again, particularly with the improvements Reigns has made since then.
At this stage, Lesnar dropping the championship becomes an acceptable outcome. He’ll have held the belt for a full year, and finally made it a prize worh fighting for. It’ll likely be the last big title run of his career, and after destroying every major player in the company, he’ll have nothing left to prove.
On the other side, Reigns defeating Lesnar would be far more palatable if he were a heel. Use this as some kind of babyface coronation, and the results will be disastrous. Play it correctly, however, and it’ll be one of the most memorable WrestleMania main events in recent history. Regardless, this is almost certainly the direction WWE will be headed in next year, and unless there’s a huge change in circumstances between now and then, we’re likely looking at Reigns as Universal Champion following WM34.
