10 Most Disgusting WWE Promotional Tactics Ever

9. Fake Razor Ramon And Fake Diesel

When Scott Hall (Razor Ramon) and Kevin Nash (Diesel) left for WCW in the spring of 1996 it was a huge blow to WWE. They were two of their top guys that were very successful for WWE for several years and they had a huge impact in WCW right away as part of the NWO group. How did WWE counter it? By advertising the returns of Razor and Diesel using Jim Ross as a heel. He walked out to the ring, said he had Razor Ramon and Diesel back in WWE except that when they showed up, they were imitations of the real thing. The guy playing Razor was Rick Bognar and Diesel was portrayed by Glenn Jacobs, who later became much more successful as Kane. It was one of the most ridiculous things that WWE ever did in terms of trying to create some kind of buzz around their product, which was definitely in trouble at that time. They were able to get back on track thanks to some actually compelling storylines and characters, but they shouldn't have even done the fake Razor and Diesel thing in the storylines.
