8. Interviewing Brian Pillman's Wife Melanie On Raw The Day After He Died

http://youtu.be/y_s-CKQzPmM Brian Pillman died of a heart attack on October 5, 1997. It was the same date as WWE's Badd Blood PPV in 1997 where Pillman was scheduled to face Dude Love in a match later that night. When he didn't show up to the arena for the show, his body was found in the afternoon at the hotel and WWE went on with the show that night. The next night on Raw, WWE decided to interview Brian's wife Melanie on the show. What did that have to do with anything on WWE TV? Nothing. It was very cold of WWE to put Melanie on the show the day after her husband died. From WWE's point of view, they can say that they didn't force her to do it. If she said no then they wouldn't have been able to put a camera in their house and broadcast it to the world. The interview was done by Vince McMahon and he even mentioned Brian's drug use as well as asking her how she would support their children. Melanie even mentioned that the mother of Brian's other kids killed herself too, so that made the situation even more crazy. We watch WWE for wrestling or sports entertainment as Vince likes to call it. We don't want to watch a grieving widow. Obviously Melanie was sad that her husband died, but that's not the kind of programming we want to see on a wrestling show.
