10 Dreadful Wrestling Tropes That NEED To Die!

8. A Dive To The Outside Means A Commercial Is Coming Your Way

What's the easiest way to tell if a two-minute chunk of fast food marketing is heading your way mid-wrestling show? Why, your favourite in-ring workers opting to chuck their bodies outside of the squared-circle, of course!

Now sure, not every single daring jump over or through the ropes immediately sets the stage for Michael Cole or Excalibur to tell the folks at home not to go anywhere because they'll "be right back!" But either this, or a star being smashed into some ring steps perhaps, more often than not leads to an advertisement or two pulling you away from the action.

Hell, this particular trope has become so terribly predictable, fans even find themselves feeling a little uneasy when a topé doesn't force their experience into a tiny square for a few minutes on PPV.

Would it kill the likes of Tony Khan or Triple H to simply have these cuts to commercial occur after any other sort of highly dramatic moment mid-match?

Would it be so bizarre to simply hop to a Burger King advert seconds after a performer just about survives being chokeslammed right down to hell? Apparently, and so the diving to commercial trope lives on.
