10 Dream Opponents For Damian Priest's NXT North American Title Reign
4. Adam Cole
Adam Cole doesn’t really have anything going on right now on NXT, which is extremely odd for the longest-reigning NXT Champion of all time. He transitioned from losing to the title to a program with former NFL punter Pat McAfee, lost to Finn Balor in a match for the vacant championship and currently doesn’t have a story or direction leading into TakeOver 31. Additionally, he’s been turning face for the last few weeks but it’s been unclear where he stands with the Undisputed Era and what the future holds for the talented Cole.
However, a program with the North American Champion Damian Priest would be mutually beneficial for both men. Priest would take on one of the biggest stars in NXT history, adding to his already impressive resumé, and Cole would be looking to regain the title he once claimed his own and re-gain some direction as a character. It could cement Cole as a new babyface sensation, fighting through the punishing adversity of Priest and refusing to resort to any cheating to put the Archer of Infamy away.
The two men’s styles seem destined to work together and if Cole put Priest over in the process, it would be monumental for the champion.
