10 Dream Wrestling Matches Fans Just Missed Out On
10. Jake Roberts vs. Randy Orton
Admittedly, Jake "The Snake" Roberts was in no shape to wrestle at this point in his life. Just listening to the man's voice tells the story of years of grind taking their toll on his body, but also listening to the reaction of the live crowd on Raw to the man shows a different side, one that says there would have been a market for a short match between Randy Orton and Jake Roberts in 2005. Orton was smack bang in the middle of his run as the "Legend Killer", disrespecting WWE legends and hoping to be the one who would end The Undertaker's winning streak at WrestleMania. As laughable as that may seem now, it wasn't entirely implausible that Randy could be the one chosen to get such a huge victory. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vivUBECFl4M Sadly, Roberts vs. Orton wouldn't happen, but it could have been a very cool moment to see Jake slap on the DDT to Randy. One of the best psychological minds of his time up against one of WWE's newest headliners, perhaps with all the bells, whistles and distractions of a Street Fight stipulation, that would have been a Raw main event right there.
