10 Dream Wrestling Matches That Only Happened On TV
4. Hulk Hogan vs. Brock Lesnar (Friday Night SmackDown; August 8, 2002)
If you look back through history, the record books will show that 2002 was undoubtedly the year of Brock Lesnar. One night removed from WrestleMania 18, Lesnar made an immediate impact by demolishing a trio of jobbers on Raw. From there, he'd embark on an undefeated streak and win the 2002 King of the Ring tournament, earning a shot at the WWE Championship at SummerSlam. Going into the event, Lesnar laid waste to everyone who stepped foot in his path of destruction and among his long list of victims was none other than Hulk Hogan. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4f5VI7PVz3E Following his blockbuster bout with The Rock at WrestleMania 18, Hogan stuck around for awhile longer, even becoming WWE champion on one occasion. When he squared off against Lesnar on the August 8 SmackDown, it wasn't seen as much more than just a stepping stone for The Next Big Thing. However, it'd prove to be one of the biggest wins in Lesnar's career, especially considering in came in clean fashion. Three nights later, Lesnar beat Rock for his first WWE title and the rest is history. Hogan never ultimately got his win back over Lesnar, which is surprising given Hogan's track record. Then again, Hogan has since challenged Lesnar to a rematch at WrestleMania 31, so never say never.
