10 Dream Wrestling Matches That Were Huge Disappointments
9. Demolition vs The Legion of Doom - Various Times In 1991
Back in the late eighties and early nineties, tag-team wrestling was dominated by two teams - the guys with the face paint and the spikes on their costume, and the other team with extremely similar attire. In 1990, fans were belated when the WWF signed the Legion of Doom, meaning that fans would finally get to see the two teams square off as they'd always wanted. Unfortunately, the timing wasn't present on this one as Ax (Bill Eadie) found himself unable to wrestle as well as he could due to back problems, weight issues and other medical situations. As a result, Vince McMahon added another member to Demolition in the form of Crush. The newly changed Demolition battled the Legion of Doom numerous times throughout 1991, but it simply wasn't the same with Ax on the sidelines, who by that point was basically a manager. After a few attempts, the bout was tried again as a 6-man tag, with all three members of Demolition, while Road Warrior Animal and Road Warrior Hawk were joined by the Ultimate Warrior. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QZ7vcq1dLag Soon after, Demolition broke up and dissolved, meaning fans never got the long, climatic or decisive contest that they had wanted between Demolition and the Legion of Doom.
