Surprised to see Bray Wyatt here? Don't be.

OK, maybe this is a slight cheat, but it didn’t take long for the wheels to come off Bray's return run creatively. His introspective 'I'm battling demons' story had some legs, but WWE pressed the repeat button on it for far too long after his sizzling comeback at Extreme Rules 2022.

His first mini-feud, vs. LA Knight, was saddled with Mountain Dew branding that felt like it took away from the "Pitch Black" situation at Royal Rumble earlier this year. As if that wasn't enough, Wyatt sort of/kinda/almost brought back a neon-drenched version of his 'Fiend' alter ego and teased a union with chief antagonist 'Uncle Howdy'.

WWE stretched the most paper-thin of material out during his comeback run, then things got so bad a planned 'Mania 39 match with Bobby Lashley was scrapped. People were excited for Bray's return when it happened; they aren't now.

His future remains unclear.
