Matt Striker has admitted in interviews before that he tends to get extra-chatty when he's nervous. That's his way of coping with the anxiety of meeting new people, but it tends to p*ss a few salty sorts off. JBL was one of those "salty sorts" - he thought that Striker talked just a little too much.

Wrestler's Court was his punishment.

Looking for a way out, Striker asked Shane Helms for advice. The Hurricane suggested that he say sorry then ply 'Taker, JBL and Booker T with gifts (booze, mainly) to win his freedom. Confused, Matt didn't do it. That only exacerbated the situation...which wasn't something he had really started in the first place.

Remember, others had the problem. He didn't.

Things came to a head when JBL reportedly called up Striker's hotel room and told him to meet the boys in the hotel bar downstairs. The soon-to-be announcer stood up for himself, and that was that.
