6. Sledgehammer, Meet Baseball Bat
Sting v Triple H was dumb on a lot of levels, some of which are still to come later in this list, but one of the dumbest things about it was how much WWE tried to push the idea that it was some sort of dream match everyone had been waiting to see. For months, Sting has been inserting himself into Triple Hs affairs, and when it all came down to it, it was always going to be a case of Stings baseball bat v Triple Hs sledgehammer. As the crazinessreached epic proportions, Triple H resorted to drawing his sledgehammer in the no-disqualification match, at which point Sting was handed his trusty baseball bat to counter with. As the two clashed, Sting struck the sledgehammer right in the middle, and the wooden handle broke clean in half. Theres so much dumb about that, its hard to know where to start, as thats not how either baseball bats, or sledgehammers work. The Sting v Triple H match asked a lot of the audience, and for the most part everyone watching seemed down to just accept what was happening, but when Stings baseball bat magically became a sword, it was a step too far and the suspension of disbelief was shattered.
