10 Dumbest Ways WWE Wrestlers Lost Matches

4. Sh*t On A Big Shoe

Ideally, a match promoted to settle a wrestling rivalry actually settles a rivalry, otherwise that rivalry is pointless. One performer at least should emerge from it in a better position than they entered, using a definitive victory to either advance up the card or better define their character. This did not happen in 2012, when the feud between the Big Show and Cody Rhodes was extended beyond its organic conclusion.

Show redeemed his patchy WrestleMania record, the crux of Cody's bantering, at WrestleMania XXVIII. That was the end - but in WWE, there is no end. Cody invoked his rematch clause, the crux of so much pointlessness, at Extreme Rules, in a Tables Match - which Big Show lost by stepping backwards through a table like a Big Jabroni. He looked like he'd stepped in sh*t. He might as well have; the whole thing reeked. Show looked moronic, Cody "opportunistic". This benefitted nobody. Worse than Show's stupidity is that WWE themselves were stupid in selectively ignoring the rules of their own fictional universe; usually, in such matches, the fall only counts when a wrestler is actively driven through a table by their opponent. So WWE broke their own rules in service of something abysmal. The other way 'round is almost comprehendible. This?

It was all so utterly stupid that it was enough to compel Edge to embark on another anti-stupidity crusade for a week, before forgetting all about it.
