10 Dumbest WWE PPV Names Ever

4. Capitol Punishment

What's more ridiculous: a politics-themed WWE PPV called Capitol Punishment or the fact that it was headlined by R-Truth challenging John Cena for the WWE Championship?

2011 was a strange one.

The show's marketing heavily revolved around Barack Obama to the point that WWE had to issue a disclaimer insisting he had no link to the show...before hiring an Obama impersonator to appear at the event.

In pure name terms, though, it's goofy as hell and feels like a throwback to something from decades prior (WCW's infamous 1990 PPV Capital Combat: Return of RoboCop, perhaps?).

Plus, linking a product ostensibly aimed at children to the death penalty is a bit of a PR misstep in this century.

Stay at home dad who spends as much time teaching his kids the merits of Martin Scorsese as possible (against the missus' wishes). General video game, TV and film nut. Occasional sports fan. Full time loon.
