8. Sami Zayn Overcomes Chris Jericho

Sami Zayn didn’t even appear on this week’s Raw. Since defeating Kevin Owens in a career-best performance at Battleground, Zayn has been used as little more than fodder for the company’s main event stars. He was relegated to pre-show duty at SummerSlam, but the teased long-term tag team with Neville hasn’t been mentioned since, and it’s clear WWE have no idea what to do with him.

Recent weeks have seen Sami lock horns with Chris Jericho, but while this seemed like a good opportunity to put one of Raw’s most popular faces over, Zayn lost at Clash. Jericho secured the win, and Zayn disappeared back into the ether.

This is something that WWE can’t afford to let lie, particularly if they have intentions of one day building Sami as a Universal Title contender. He deserves the opportunity to reignite the Jericho feud and take his win back if he’s to move forward, and if WWE are thinking logically about their upcoming PPV, they’ll rebook the Clash of Champions match.

Jericho has been endlessly entertaining throughout his career’s Indian Summer, but he shouldn’t be going over younger talents at this point. A win here might just give Zayn the direction he sorely lacks at the moment.
