10 Electric Wrestling Matches That Saved Pay-Per-Views

10. John Cena vs. Batista (WWE Over The Limit 2010)

People can say what they want (and they have) about John Cena, but given the right opponent and circumstances, the guy can help put on an exciting match. One of Cena's biggest and best opponents throughout his career is Batista, and it was a memorable heel run by the latter that helped propel an 'I Quit' encounter in May, 2010 to saving what was otherwise a very dull Pay-Per-View. 'Over The Limit' was WWE's new May show, one designed to freshen up the month and replace Judgment Day. Of course, it takes a lot more than simply renaming an event before fans take notice, and Over The Limit wasn't a very good example of how to start a new concept with a bang. Randy Orton and Edge would stink the place out, along with a whole host of other throwaway bouts, before Cena and Batista saved the day with a great stunt-based WWE main event brawl. Threatening to hit his rival with an 'Attitude Adjustment' from the top of a car, Cena would win when Batista chickened out and quit, but the top "babyface" would hit the move anyway, sending Batista through the stage.
