7. Diesel vs. Bret Hart (WWF Royal Rumble 1995)

The WWF of 1995 was not the most red-hot of products. In fact, the entire wrestling world was pretty dull in '95, including WCW, where Hulk Hogan was in the process of fighting The Dungeon Of Doom. Over in Vince McMahon's company, things still appeared to be in transition from Hogan, it was an odd time period - Shawn Michaels would win the Royal Rumble, being catapulted into the main event scene shortly thereafter. Other than HBK's win, the '95 Rumble show was nothing to write home about. Even the 30-man over the top rope extravaganza seemed tame, and included such credible stars as Mantaur, Duke Droese and Aldo Montoya. Even an aging Dick Murdoch was wheeled out for a spot, in what must surely be one of the worst Rumble lineups of all time. Thankfully, Diesel and Bret Hart managed to salvage things somewhat earlier in the card. Even though their WWF Title match would end in a draw, the action was exciting enough to hold interest, and that's something that can't be said for many other matches on the card. Incredibly, Hart vs. Diesel was just over 10 minutes shorter than the Royal Rumble.
