10 Embarrassing Times Wrestlers Tried To Be Funny

8. Ricochet: Original Prankster

WWE

A certain, awful epiphany swept over your writer recently upon watching the presentation of the Ricochet character on RAW.

Ricochet stole Sheamus' hat and jacket and performed a delighted dance. He just likes to have fun, and because Vince McMahon is a mean-spirited man who has lost all perspective of what a babyface should be, having fun is the same as being a lame, spiteful tosspot. Ricochet was chuffed with himself for stealing another man's property after that man defeated him clean in the middle at WrestleMania Backlash - so much so that he thought doing a dance was high physical comedy.

Vince McMahon wants you to explode into convulsions of laughter and say "Ner ner ner ner ner!" at the screen. He wants you to wiggle your fingers in front of your nose and blow raspberries with your mouth. He wants you to be as much of a sneering, malevolent, childish being as he is.

"I might not have won your title but I got your hat, bitch!" Ricochet somehow didn't say.

If Ricochet was any more of a worthless geek here, he'd be running a wrestling positivity Twitter account asking people what they thought of Steve Austin with a question face emoji.
