10 Emotional WWE Moments That Made Fans Cry

1. Connor The Crusher's Tribute Video

WWEWWE

The wrestling world was first introduced to little Connor "The Crusher" Michalek in 2012, when he made a YouTube video about wanting to meet his favorite wrestler, Daniel Bryan. The video went viral, and WWE caught wind of it, setting the meeting up. Connor had Pediatric Brain Cancer, and was only seven years old at the time.

The initial meeting with Bryan (and the other-half of the WWE Tag Team Champions, Kane) was as adorable as you would expect, showing off the tender sides of Bryan Danielson and Glenn Jacobs, as men. Connor talked trash, and when Bryan asked if Connor thought he could beat the Tag Team Champions, of course the answer was "I could". Connor proved this to be true by locking in the Yes Lock (still called the No Lock back then) and forcing Bryan to submit. It was a very cool moment for a company that is full of moments like this, thanks to their work with charities like Make-A-Wish. Everyone assumed this would be the last we would see or hear from Connor Michalek again.

Everyone was wrong.

Eagle-eyed fans noticed Connor sitting in the front row at WrestleMania 30, and when Bryan won, everyone saw him head out of the ring and talk to Connor before he talked to anyone else. Not his family. Not his lifelong friends. The first person he went to after he achieved his dream was Connor. If that doesn't say all that needs to be said about Bryan Danielson, nothing will.

When Connor passed away not even three weeks after WrestleMania, people were floored. Condolences began flooding in to Bryan on Twitter and Facebook. Then, WWE put a tribute video together for Connor, and it blew everyone away. You couldn't go anywhere on the internet without seeing the video. Sites that have absolutely nothing to do with wrestling posted the video, and people would even say things like "I don't watch wrestling, but I saw this video and had to pass it along" everywhere you went.

In the video, we got to see a bit of Connor's initial meeting with Bryan, and then an interview with Stephanie McMahon mentioned that WWE found out from Connor's father that he didn't have much time left, so he was brought to WrestleMania. We saw an adorable moment from before the gates opened for Mania, with Connor accompanying Bryan to the ring to his entrance music, as the WWE locker room surrounded the ring, applauding. Triple H got in the ring and told Connor to hit him, and although he initially refused, he was coaxed into it, and he let Trips have it. Trips sold it as if he had been shot by a missile, and the wrestlers exploded, telling Connor to make the cover. Instinctively, Connor hooked the leg as he made the pin, and he defeated Triple H to another huge pop from the boys. Other memorable moments from the video included Connor telling AJ to stop being crazy (which brought out a huge laugh from AJ) and him telling Batista that he wouldn't allow Bryan to take it easy on them during their match (which made Batista beg and tell him that it isn't fair, since Connor asked him to take it easy on Bryan). Connor's dad was then interviewed, and fighting back tears, he said that WWE's treatment of Connor that weekend helped Connor fight a little more and it gave him more time to spend with his son before he passed. If you weren't in tears already as you watched the video, this made you lose it. Connor's love even showed in his obituary, where WWE and Daniel Bryan were mentioned and will be there for everyone to see.

Sure, we've seen wrestlers pass away from various causes through the years, and those moments were sad in their own ways, but they just don't compare to this. Nobody should have to battle cancer, let alone someone so young and with their entire life ahead of them. It's something that just doesn't make sense. Kudos to Daniel Bryan, and to WWE as a whole, for helping to make the last year-and-a-half of Connor Michalek's life as special as they could, as well as for all of the rest of the charity work that they do year-round.
