10 Emotional WWE Moments That Made Fans Cry

4. Eddie Guerrero & Chris Benoit Share A Moment At WrestleMania 20

Chris Benoit shocked the wrestling world by making Triple H tap out in the main event of WrestleMania 20 to become the new World Champion, and that was emotional all by itself, but when he stepped down from the top turnbuckle as he celebrated after the match, turned around, and saw his best friend (and WWE Champion) Eddie Guerrero standing there with tears in his eyes, everyone lost it. As they embraced, they knew that the years of struggling and dealing with backstage politics had only made them stronger. They were both on top of the wrestling world, and they were there together.

It didn't appear that Benoit knew Guerrero would be there, as you could see how turning and seeing him made him pretty much stop in his tracks. That doesn't matter, though. It shows that even pro wrestlers can get caught up in the moment and lose themselves to emotions. Eddie was so happy for his friend that he couldn't just celebrate backstage and wait to see him. He had to go to the ring right away and be there with him.

This is a unique moment, as it made people cry when it happened, but it makes people cry again now, but for a totally different reason. A year-and-a-half after this happened, Eddie Guerrero was dead, and a year-and-a-half after that, Chris Benoit was dead. It's actually depressing to go back and watch this now, knowing that it was the peak of their careers, and that they were both gone three years later.
