The WWE Hall Of Fame has had much of its credibility eroded by questionable inductions, perplexing omissions, and an unclear selection process, but joining it clearly means a great deal to those who have the honour. The ceremony has produced a number of memorable speeches over the years, but none were more enthralling than Jake Roberts', who was inducted in 2014.

Jake dived into the personal problems that had plagued him throughout his life, linking everything back to wrestling, which he referred to "as the one woman [I] never cheated on." He bared his soul for the audience, sparing no gory details as he recounted his grim, depressing struggles, making it an incredibly difficult listen for anyone familiar with the demons he'd had to overcome just to be standing there that night.

Many stories like Jake's don't get a happy ending, but his did. Finally healthy, he acknowledged the fans for their support, and Diamond Dallas Page (the man he credits with saving his life) for extended a helping hand when nobody else would. With his grandson in his arms, Roberts thanked WWE for giving him a second chance, and allowing him to be there, rounding-off one of the most memorable, heartfelt HOF speeches in history.
