As one of the most beloved performers in wrestling history, it’s no surprise that The Undertaker has been at the heart of some of the sport’s most emotional moments. His Streak-snapping loss to Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania XXX was a big one, but the prevailing tone was one of shock rather than sadness.

His last match, however, was a different matter entirely.

‘Taker put forth the most depressing performance of his career at WM33. He and Roman Reigns collided in the night’s main event, with ‘The Deadman’ a clear shadow of his former self. Gassed-out and bleary-eyed, the 52-year-old looked lost. Time had finally caught up with him.

The match was never announced as The Undertaker’s last, but the message was clear after the final bell. With Reigns victorious, ‘Taker was left alone in the ring, his music playing throughout the building. He took off his trademark coat, hat, and sleeveless gloves, leaving them in a neat pile in the middle of the ring, and nobody could miss the symbolism as he walked away from it all.

'Taker broke character to greet his wife, then made one final march up the ramp. His 27-year journey had come to an end, and his followers were left mourning.
